Discuss your concerns with your supervisor or department directly. You should be in regular contact with your research supervisor. It’s important to work together openly and honestly to adapt your plan for realistic research and milestones.

PhD defences are coordinated by the School of Grad Studies and should continue to be initiated in Mosaic. Students and committees can follow the new online-only defence process.

Master’s students should contact their graduate administrator for information/instruction pertaining to defending their masters thesis.

The School of Graduate Studies recommends that PhD defences are conducted using WebEx or Zoom because of functionality of these platforms. Both have “waiting room” or “lobby” where students can wait during in-camera discussions by the Examining Committee.

You can book an online appointment with a graduate-level writing assistant through Oscarplus. The Writing Centre does not provide editing services but offers support and strategies to help you improve scholarly writing skills.
