Founded by Chancellor Emeritus L.R. Wilson and hosted at McMaster, the Wilson Leadership Scholar Award aims to give students transformative experiences while also helping to develop the next generation of leaders in Canada.
Creating inclusive, supportive, positive spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ staff, faculty, and students on campus requires intentional work. In this session, participants will increase their awareness about the lives and experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ persons.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
define common terms related to assigned sex, gender and sexual orientation
explain different forms of discrimination, including homophobia, heteronormativity, transphobia, cisnormativity, and bi-erasure
identify relevant resources and policies on campus addressing discrimination
discuss tangible ways to create a more positive campus community
