Entrepreneurship and commercialization are critical avenues for translating academic and research excellence into social and economic benefits for our communities, both locally and globally. Recognizing the pivotal role Postdoctoral Fellows play in driving successful commercialization efforts, McMaster University, through Made at Mac, has launched the Postdoc Entrepreneur Fellowship. This is a competitive program that supports entrepreneurial-minded postdoctoral fellows in translating their research outcomes into investable ventures. The program provides one year of salary support to postdoctoral fellows who have at least one year prior experience working on the technology/solution that is being commercialized. This additional year will allow the postdoctoral fellow to focus on commercializing their research through venture creation.
