Location: McMaster University Student Centre (MUSC), Room B118 (International and Exchange Student Experience Hub).

Service Canada will be on campus to issue Social Insurance Numbers (SIN) for international students that are authorized to work on and off-campus.


This is a drop-in clinic – no scheduled appointments. Make sure to review below and bring all required items for your appointment.


During the appointment, Service Canada will register your information and print your official SIN number. Each appointment will take no more than 10 minutes.


On the day of your appointment


Bring the following items and be ready to share the following information:


    

  1. The original Study Permit (copies are not accepted) with working on and off campus authorization printed on it and/or original work permit (copies are not accepted).
    2. 

  2. Passport
    3. 

  3. Your first name, your last name and your date of birth.
    4. 

  4. Your father’s complete name.
    5. 

  5. Your mother’s MAIDEN name (their name before they were married).
    6. 

  6. Your complete address and telephone number.
    7.
