From concept to final cut, the curtain is ready to lift on this year’s McMaster GradFlix Final Showcase.
Graduate students from across the faculties have been flexing their creative muscles, crafting one-minute films describing their research. GradFlix allows video-makers to tell their story using animations, original music, dance, poetry, even humour – while still focusing on improving communication skills with non-specialist audiences.
The top three GradFlix winners will receive cash prizes and the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Communicating Graduate Research, to be given at the annual Graduate Student Recognition Awards reception later this month.
Preliminary adjudication is over and now, 11 filmmakers from across the university are anxiously waiting for the 2025 GradFlix final. Competitors are:
- Amna Abbas, Health Sciences
- Marie Balea, Health Sciences
- Julianna Colafranceschi, Science
- Sudeshna Dhar, Health Sciences
- Oorja Dorkar, Engineering
- Manar Emira, Engineering
- Neeraja Nannapaneni, Health Sciences
- Nicole Rakowski, Business
- Ekamdeep Sandhu, Health Sciences
- Rana Ozcan, Engineering
- Solomon Joseph, Health Sciences
All 2025 GradFlix submissions will be available for viewing on our McMaster Graduate Studies YouTube channel after this year’s showcase screening.
