The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women Commemorative event honours the 14 women murdered on December 6, 1989 at École Polytechnique de Montréal, the over 1200 Missing and Murdered Indigenous women, the women murdered while members of McMaster University and those who have experienced gender based violence globally. The keynote speaker will be Jaime Black, a Métis multidisciplinary artist based in Winnipeg and the creator of the REDress Project. The REDress Project is an aesthetic response to the over 1200 Indigenous women who are missing or have been murdered.
