Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Economics

The M.A. program in Economics at McMaster owes its strength to the quality of its research faculty, opportunities for intensive training in theoretical and applied work, and a diverse offering of specializations. Our faculty members specialize in a wide range of topics, including experimental economics, health economics, international trade and international finance, labour economics, macroeconomics, monetary economics and public economics. A special feature of the M.A. program is that it offers students the chance to participate in real world experience through the optional coop program. Many students choose this option and have an opportunity to work 4 or 8 months after completing two semesters of academic work.
