Scholarship payments via e-transfer

McMaster scholarship payments and refunds are paid via e-transfer.

Scholarship payment

If you have a scholarship payment owing to you, we will coordinate the refund for you. You will receive an e-transfer to your McMaster email address within one to two weeks after we have processed the payment.

Please note: e-transfers for your graduate or department scholarships will be withheld if you have a past due balance on your Student Account. Questions about unpaid balances should be directed to studbill@mcmaster.ca

Scholarships paid through e-transfer include:

  • graduate scholarships
  • entrance scholarships
  • department scholarships
  • external scholarships
  • tuition scholarships
  • Tri-Agency awards (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC)
  • Provincial awards (Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and The Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST))

Student account credit

If you have a credit (negative balance) showing on your account, request your refund by emailing refunds@mcmaster.ca.

Include REFUND, your name and 9-digit ID number in the subject line. We will verify the refund and process the refund through e-transfer. Allow 4-6 weeks for processing and delivery. For more detailed information, visit the Registrar’s website.
