New MCYU Certificate of Completion offers chance to develop communication and leadership skills
Are you seeking opportunities to further develop transferable skills that are not always readily available through your home department?
The McMaster Children and Youth University (MCYU) Certificate of Completion provides opportunities in such areas as
- knowledge mobilization and translation
- communication
- leadership
- problem-solving
- time management
- teamwork
- organization and adaptability
Certificate requirements
Each graduate student is required to attend two days of training, October 14 and 15, where they will be trained on some foundational elements related to MCYU’s approach, community engagement, knowledge translation/mobilization, and the art of presentation/performance. This training provides foundational elements so students can then participate in experiential, hands-on opportunities, such as mentorship, live workshop creation, presentation of workshops and the creation of an online workshop or Ebook.
MCYU will issue a Certificate of Completion to students who have completed the foundational training, at least two of the four experiential opportunities and a reflection on their experience within the program.
