Engineering grad student wins first-ever GradFlix at McMaster
The virtual red carpet was rolled out for our inaugural McMaster GradFlix Final Showcase.
Graduate researchers from across the university have been busy crafting one-minute videos to describe their research.
GradFlix submissions ranged from animated shorts to on-screen action, and featured creative scripts complemented by original music and film work.
On March 30, an audience of close to 250 tuned in for the YouTube Premiere screening of the top 12 videos in the 2021 GradFlix competition.
Winning GradFlix videos
Our first place winner is Calvin Zhu from the Faculty of Engineering.
Second place went to Erica Dao from the Faculty of Science.
In third place is Rachael Finnerty from the Faculty of Science.
Those attending the Showcase Premiere had an opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award winner which goes to Nicholas Simard from the Faculty of Science.
