Business: The DeGroote Doctoral Students Association (DDSA) co-presidents are the Graduate Council representatives for the Faculty.  They are normally elected in August. Please reach out to the DDSA at gsaddsa@mcmaster.ca for more information.

Engineering: The executive council of the Engineering Graduate Student Society (EGS) ensures the Society is represented on various McMaster University Committees and Councils, including Graduate Council, pursuant to the bylaws of the Faculty of Engineering. Membership on committees is normally determined in June by the EGS. Please reach out to egs@mcmaster.ca for more information.

Social Sciences: Commencing in September 2023, representation of two Faculty of Social Sciences’ graduate students to Graduate Council will be conducted via an online voting process. Members will be announced in October. Please reach out to ssea@mcmaster.ca for more information.

Humanities: Per the Faculty of Humanities by-laws, elections are handled at the departmental level to determine graduate student representatives to the Faculty of Humanities, and the selection of representatives for Graduate Council is made in a second, subsequent election held among these graduate student representatives to the Faculty.  Election of graduate student representatives to the General Faculty shall be held no later than September 30 for a term beginning October 1. Normally membership of Graduate Council is confirmed at the same time. Questions about elections to the Faculty for graduate student representatives should go the Chairs of Departments. Questions about the election by graduate student representatives of representatives to Graduate Council should go to the Associate Dean Graduate Studies and Research GSR Associate Dean, Humanities adeangrh@mcmaster.ca.

Health Sciences: The Health Science Graduate Student Association co-presidents are Graduate Council representatives for the Faculty. They are normally elected in June. Please reach out to fhsgrad@mcmaster.ca for more information.

Science: The Science Graduate Student Association President and Treasurer are representatives. Membership is determined by election to that group normally by the end of the academic year. Please reach out to trepanr@mcmaster.ca for more information.
